Sheldon Cooper, PhD. (played by Jim Parsons) is a theoretical physicist with an IQ of 187. He has two PhDs and one masters, and is currently employed in Caltech. He loves Star Trek, comic books and videogames, and has very poor social skills. He is often regarded as egoistical and annoying. He is not known to have ever had a romantic relationship, and seems to believe this will be a waste of his time. Once believed by many to be asexual, these notions of his character were dispelled after the eighth episode of season 3, where in three instances, he is shown to be affected by Penny's naked form.
Penny (played by Kaley Cuoco) is an aspiring actress working as a waitress in the Cheesecake Factory. She lives across the hall from Sheldon and his roommate, Leonard Hofstader, whom she is currently in a relationship with. She is the only one in their social circle to stand up to Sheldon and put up with his idiosyncracies. Penny is a self-confessed big 'ol five sexual initiator, and has had a string of boyfriends after her disastrous break-up with Kurt, her boyfriend of four years.
Why?
As mentioned earlier on, Sheldon and Penny are not a canonical romantic couple. However, their verbal spars, interactions, character growth and frequent screen time (to the point that the writers have nicknamed their scenes Shenny or Peldon scenes) have made them more popular than the original romantic tandem of Leonard/Penny, spawning several fan fictions, fan arts, debates, and eventually interviews and overall media attention.
Essentially, it all boils down to the obvious chemistry between the two characters, both onscreen and offscreen.

The Sheldon/Penny Official Fanlisting was once owned and managed by Barbara of PennyandSheldon.com, but had since closed down. On August 2009, I offered to assume management of the fanlisting, and Barbara agreed. You may still visit PennyandSheldon.com, a fansite dedicated to our couple.

The Layout
The original layout was a small site which made use of inframes and the picture of Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco in their TV Guide photoshoot. However, with Barbara's approval of my taking over the fanlisting and trii_ne's posted video of the Season 2 bloopers, I became inspired to create a new and better layout. I chose these particular colors to commemorate "The Work Song Nanocluster", and of course, to go with the screen caps. The screen caps come after the part wherein Penny asks Sheldon "And you know about that stuff?" and Sheldon says "Penny..." But after that, Jim forgets his lines, smiles, and Kaley reaches out to squeeze his chin. Say it with me: Awww!
Also, as you can see, the banner had been changed to add a recently released press photo of the same episode. This came after a special airing of the Big Bang Theory last December 11, 2009. Funny how they waited almost a year to release the image...

I've since become a big fan of the series and an even bigger fan of Sheldon and Penny. I do mostly Sheldon and Penny artworks as well as fanfictions, and am now managing this fanlisting, with the blessings of Barbara from PennyandSheldon.com.
